The Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) Symposium announces speakers for its inaugural Symposium


SILVER SPRING, Md. - (November 17, 2004) - The Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) Symposium announces speakers for its inaugural Symposium. International experts from business, government, and academia will be sharing their experiences with SELinux, and discussing the latest research and development results. The event will be the first of its kind to examine the emerging SELinux technology and the power of flexible mandatory access control in Linux as provided by type enforcement. Registration for the SELinux Symposium, scheduled for March 2-4, 2005 in Silver Spring, Maryland, is now open at www.selinux-symposium.org.

The SELinux Symposium will feature two days of talks by experts and practitioners with SELinux, as well as a day of tutorials. Topics for the symposium include in-depth discussions of the core SELinux technology, tools and techniques for writing and analyzing type enforcement rule sets, experiences using SELinux to build strong network security solutions, and plans for SELinux within major Linux distributions.

The speaker line-up was selected via a community review process and includes experts from several countries and organizations including Debian, Gentoo, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi, IBM, MITRE, Novell/SuSE, Red Hat, Tresys Technology, Trusted Computer Solutions, and the U.S. National Security Agency. About the SELinux Symposium
The Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) Symposium is an annual exchange of ideas, technology, and research involving SELinux. SELinux is emerging technology that adds flexible, strong mandatory access control security to Linux. The inaugural Symposium is schedule for March 2-4, 2005 in Silver Spring, Maryland and is sponsored by Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Red Hat, and Tresys Technology.
